Privacy in plain English

What we collect

• Account details such as your email address, display name, sign-in provider, and secure sign-in records. Google and Apple process the social sign-in you choose; Apple may provide a private relay address and may not provide a name. When that happens, we use a neutral temporary label and onboarding lets you review or replace the display name shown to the community.
• Your profile, dog information, photos, posts, comments, event responses, and other content you choose to share.
• Private one-to-one messages between community members. Only the two participants can open the conversation. If either participant reports a specific message, that reported message may be reviewed by the administrator or a moderator.
• Basic device, security, and server records used to keep the service reliable and prevent abuse. If you turn on phone notifications, we store an Apple device token or browser push subscription linked to your account solely to deliver the categories you choose.
• Membership and payment identifiers if paid membership is introduced. The app does not store full card numbers.

How we use it

We use this information to run the member community, show the content you request, organize local events, provide support, moderate reports, secure accounts, and improve reliability. We do not sell your personal information.

Who helps operate the app

We use service providers for hosting, authentication and data storage, video delivery, email, phone notifications, and—if paid membership is offered—payment processing. Google or Apple also processes a social sign-in when you choose that option. They receive only the information needed to perform those services. Mux processes pseudonymized video-playback information, including video views, device and browser details, performance data, and coarse country/state location derived from an IP address, so we can deliver video and measure playback quality. Mux Player cookies are disabled; Mux says it retains pseudonymized view data for up to 100 days and does not use it for advertising. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect members, animals, or the service.

Phone notifications

Phone notifications are optional. Apple Push Notification service or your browser's push service delivers them. You can choose event, friend, post-activity, and private-message alerts in Account, turn off one device or every device, or revoke permission in system settings. Lock-screen alerts never include private-message text, email addresses, profile photos, post text, or report details. Invalid registrations are disabled, and registrations are removed with the account.

Retention and deletion

We keep information while your account is active and as reasonably needed for security, legal obligations, dispute resolution, and service operations. You can request account deletion at any time. We process verified requests within 30 days, confirm completion, and explain any limited record that must be retained and why.

Your choices

You can edit your profile in the app, remove content you posted where the app provides that control, report unsafe content, block direct contact and ordinary community content from another member, or ask us to access, correct, or delete your information. Media links already issued before a block may remain usable for up to one hour while that signed link expires.

Who can read a private conversation

Private Messages are not anonymous and are not end-to-end encrypted. Only the two conversation participants can open and read the thread. The administrator and moderators do not have a general inbox-reading tool. If a participant reports a specific message, the reported message and its report may be reviewed by the community team. Community Chat, Yard posts, board discussions, event activity, and profile content are shared community surfaces rather than private messages.
